Are home prices falling in Modesto?

Not so fast, 2013 home values in Stanislaus and Tuolumne counties. Modesto Bee writer J.N. Sbranti reports that Stanislaus home prices fell substantially in February.

Valley to experience the fastest growth in California

According to Fresno Bee reporter Kurtis Alexander, the San Joaquin Valley is on the precipice of a population explosion that will increase the region’s population from 4 million residents to over 8 million residents by 2060.

Alexander cites state projections that were released this week in addition to U.S. Census data showing that home ownership rates in the Fresno metro area have actually increased from 55.7% in 2005 to 59.0% in 2012. To read more, visit FresnoBee.com.

Modesto home prices take a breather in December.

After Modesto home values rose steadily through most of 2012, Modesto Bee business writer J.N. Sbranti reports that home prices in Stanislaus County fell in December.

Although Modesto is not specifically cited in the article, Sbranti points out that Stanislaus County’s median price for home sales rose 13.5 percent from December 2011, according to the data source cited.
